Carolina Classic: President’s Remarks from Teri Murphy

I was very pleased to see so many beautiful rat terriers at the Classic this weekend. Breeders have done a wonderful job producing pretty dogs. They were pleasing to the eye. And the quality of the puppies that were there over the weekend was exciting to see as they hold the breed's future.  Temperaments and ring training are improving by leaps and bounds !

Now, I think it's time for breeders to begin tweaking their breeding programs for movement.  Pretty can get you far, but good movement will get you there faster !

May I suggest a very good book... now out of print, but used copies found on www.amazon.com.  She uses very easy to understand terminology and clear diagrams.  It is called  The New Dogsteps by Rachel Page Elliott.  A good book to have in your library.

Thank you for a successful weekend of shows

Teri
