These are the current requirements per OFA for the AHT CHIC program.

AMERICAN HAIRLESS TERRIER
  • Cardiac Evaluation (One of the following)
    Congenital Cardiac Exam
    Advanced Cardiac Exam
  • Hip Dysplasia (One of the following)
    OFA Evaluation
    PennHIP Evaluation
  • Patellar Luxation
    OFA Evaluation
  • Legg-Calve-Perthes (One of the following)
    Legg-Calves-Perthes
    OFA Evaluation
  • Eye Examination by a boarded ACVO Ophthalmologist- Annual exams until at least Age 8 yrs (96mo) (Optional)
    Results registered with OFA
    Registered with CERF
  • Congenital Deafness (Optional)
    OFA evaluation based on BAER test
  • Elbow Dysplasia (Optional)
    OFA Evaluation
Note – In addition to the breed specific requirements above, a CHIC requirement across all participating breeds is that the dog must be permanently identified via microchip or tattoo in order to qualify for a CHIC number.
